![]() It has been incredibly mild in the Northeast this December and January making it hard to believe that it is even winter. Living in the Buffalo area, I am always prepared for the worst from late fall through early spring. And while the big one could still hit this winter, many steelheaders are taking full advantage of open waters and good fishing conditions. This past week I had a good day on the Niagara with a couple fresh steelhead. With the water still in the mid to high 30s the takes were quite agressive on a swung fly. I hope to fish a couple times this upcoming week as well. Getting outdoors in the winter months is good for the soul. I hope to see you out there...
