With the continued low water conditions on the western New York steelhead rivers, the still Wednesday afternoon was used in the pursuit of muskie. We don't get many mid October afternoon/evenings like this one. With confidence and spirits high, Justin Damude and I fished a few prime spots until we lost our sunlight. Time flies by when the anticipation of each cast is so great. We each received a solid take along one of our favored weedbeds and we saw a couple other muskies, but unfortunately nothing to the boat. It seemed like a perfect night and certainly one of those that leaves you scratching your head and looking for answers. But it was awesome to be out there and I have often found it best to not over-think muskie fishing. Just keep casting.
