![]() As spring kicks in to full gear here in western New York a fly angler can go in many directions. One thing I like to do when the conditions are right is catch a steelhead on a swung fly and a stream-bred trout on a dry all in one day. I was able to accomplish this on Sunday landing two steelhead in the morning on my favorite Lake Erie tributary and then heading inland to catch some wild browns during a sparse Hendrickson hatch. Things only get more interesting from here. Considering that May is a great month for bass, carp and pike, one can go in just about any direction for some good angling. It is going to be a busy spring!
