![]() My annual trip to British Columbia at the end of October through early November was outstanding. I met my good friend Keith Myott for a couple days in the Smithers area before our week at the Silver Hilton Lodge. Keith made it a marathon as he had already been fishing for a week and a half before we met up. We had perfect weather for that time of year along with good water conditions and fish numbers. While I rose a couple fish to the surface, I mainly used heavy tips on Skagit heads to successfully work the fly in cold, dark waters. The steelhead pictured here is 40 x 20.5 inches and was sitting at the back end of a deep swirling tail out. It took a pink marabou Spey.
