Wide swings in weather and water conditions during a good portion of 2013 made for a challenging year. For me the only thing that seemed to work was persistence. Productive days were often sandwiched in between disappointing outings. But fish caught with perseverance are the most satisfying. I hope for smoother sailing in 2014.
Along with a handful of trips, I will be traveling to promote my book Advanced Fly Fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead. I will be in Cleveland on January 15, 2014 at the The Trout Club of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History for an evening presentation and providing a series of seminars at the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo in Warren, Michigan on March 8 - 9, 2014. I also plan to visit Shultz Outfitters in Ypsilanti, Michigan and Chagrin River Outfitters in Chagrin Falls, Ohio during the year. I'll provide more details once the dates are set.
