I recently spent a weekend in Montana reconnecting with my brother Jerry and the wonderful natural beauty of that magnificent state. The week was made complete by taking my daughter to Montana for the first time. I also met Jerry's girlfirend Sharon and greatly enjoyed her company. Each day was comprised of experiencing all that Montana has to offer along with some top notch fly fishing for wild trout. One of the highlights was a day long float on the Big Hole River with my daughter and we caught some beautiful wild brown trout.
In late June I found some good largemouth bass fishing around Grand Island. Working black Wooly Buggers and rabbit strip leeches along and through the weeds produced the best action. One evening I took my daughter Sarah and rigged her spinning rod with a black spinner bait which resulted in this nice bass and a big smile.
